Accessibility Statement

ORENVA MERCANTILE LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

1. Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.

We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Include accessibility as part of our design and development process.
  • Provide keyboard navigation for all interactive elements.
  • Maintain a logical reading order and clear heading hierarchy.
  • Ensure sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text).
  • Provide alt text for all product images.
  • Support screen reader compatibility through ARIA labels and semantic HTML.
  • Ensure all forms have proper labels and error messaging.
  • Respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query for users sensitive to animation.

2. Keyboard Navigation

Our website is fully navigable using keyboard controls:

  • Tab: Move forward through interactive elements.
  • Shift + Tab: Move backward through interactive elements.
  • Enter/Space: Activate buttons and links.
  • Escape: Close modals, menus, and search overlays.
  • Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements.

3. Screen Reader Compatibility

We support major screen readers including:

  • NVDA (Windows)
  • JAWS (Windows)
  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • TalkBack (Android)

Our pages use semantic HTML5 elements (nav, main, section, article, footer) and ARIA landmarks to provide structural information to assistive technologies.

4. Color and Contrast

We design with accessibility in mind:

  • Minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for body text.
  • Minimum color contrast ratio of 3:1 for large text and user interface components.
  • Information is not conveyed by color alone — text labels and icons accompany color-coded elements.
  • Dark mode design with high-contrast text (white on near-black background).

5. Images and Media

  • All product images include descriptive alt text.
  • Decorative images use empty alt attributes (alt="").
  • Icons include ARIA labels for screen readers.
  • Payment method icons have descriptive titles.

6. Forms

  • All form fields have associated <label> elements.
  • Required fields are marked with both an asterisk (*) and aria-required="true".
  • Error messages are announced via aria-live regions.
  • Form validation errors are descriptive and actionable.

7. Third-Party Content

Our website loads Google Fonts and displays locally hosted payment-brand images. We work to keep all visible content accessible regardless of its source.

8. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not be fully accessible:

  • Some product images may not have detailed alt text (we are working to improve this).
  • The cart drawer animation may not respect all reduced-motion preferences on older browsers.
  • Video content on the Learn page (if added in the future) will require captions.
